A juvenile court, not the SPA, ordered the nationwide Pixbet block

A first-instance court in Campina Grande ordered the nationwide blocking of Pixbet's platforms on 2 September and fixed R$4.7m in accrued fines, per Paraíba outlets. The regulator is a recipient of that order, not its author — though it had suspended the same brands itself three weeks earlier.

On 2 September 2026 Judge João Lucas Souto Gil Messias, of the Vara da Infância e Juventude in Campina Grande, Paraíba, ordered the immediate blocking across Brazil of the platforms operated by Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas Ltda., and fixed R$4.7 million in accrued fines for non-compliance with an earlier order — per Jornal da Paraíba and two other Paraíba outlets read on 3 September. The case, brought by two human-rights bodies and Father Julio Renato Lancellotti, questions how the company keeps under-18s off its platforms — age verification and facial biometrics among them. The brands named are Pixbet, GanheiBet and Bet da Sorte, GanheiBet formerly Flabet per the same reporting.

What the order actually requires

Per those accounts the judge ordered urgent letters to the Secretaria de Prêmios e Apostas (SPA) and to Anatel, the telecoms agency, so the block reaches fixed and mobile providers. An order signed in Campina Grande travels through a regulator and an agency before it reaches anyone’s phone.

On 14 July the same judge ordered suspension within 48 hours, conditioning resumption on proof of working age-verification technology, at R$100,000 a day initially capped at R$100 million. Pixbet’s request for efeito suspensivo was refused on 16 July by the Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba. The 2 September decision counts 47 days of non-compliance from 18 July, reaching R$4.7 million, to be deposited in court within five days of notification or met with seizure of assets. This is an astreinte — a judicial coercive fine — not a regulatory penalty, and it is appealable.

Where the regulator sits in this file

Not at the top of this one. The ordering authority is a state juvenile court; the SPA appears as a body being written to. It is not passive, though: per the same accounts it told the court that Pixbet’s mandatory filings to Sigap, the regulator’s reporting system, had shown failures since the company was authorized. And it had already moved on its own account: on 14 August the SPA precautionarily suspended those brands pending sanctioning proceedings, per Paraíba outlets — part of the 14-platform wave we covered without naming operators. Two enforcement tracks, running in parallel.

The authorization behind them is a third thing. Checked 4 September 2026, entry 15 of the Finance Ministry’s Empresas Autorizadas register is Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas Ltda., CNPJ 40.633.348/0001-30, carrying those three brands on pix.bet.br, ganhei.bet.br and betdasorte.bet.br under Portaria SPA/MF nº 806 of 14 April 2025, as amended by nº 2.326 of 14 October 2025; the page is stamped as updated 3 September 2026. Neither a precautionary suspension nor a court’s blocking order is a revocation.

The practical note for the apostador is narrow. None of the three Paraíba reports read on 3 September records what any provider has done with the ofícios, so treat platform status as unsettled rather than decided — and keep the deposit limits and self-exclusion tools the rules require switched on while the file moves.
